Plagiarism Policy
The Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion (JCMRO) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism in all forms and ensures that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated for originality before publication.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
-
Copying text, ideas, images, or data from other sources without proper attribution
-
Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication
-
Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously
-
Paraphrasing substantial portions of another work without acknowledgment
Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts are screened using reliable plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or similar tools. The editorial team evaluates similarity reports carefully to distinguish between acceptable overlap and potential misconduct.
Acceptable Similarity Limits
-
A similarity index of up to 10–15% may be considered acceptable, provided it does not involve copied content from a single source
-
Higher similarity or significant overlap with previously published work may result in rejection
Editorial Action in Case of Plagiarism
-
Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism during initial screening will be rejected immediately
-
If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article may be corrected or retracted depending on the severity
-
Authors may be banned from submitting to the journal for a specified period in cases of serious misconduct
Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted work is original and properly cited. All sources must be appropriately acknowledged, and quotations must be clearly indicated.
Ethical Compliance
The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling cases of plagiarism and publication misconduct.
