Abstract

Background: The integration of innovative healthcare technologies has transformed nursing practices in Saudi Arabian hospitals with more advancement and improvement. Aim: This study aimed to assess the impact of these technologies on nursing roles, responsibilities, and workflows.

Methods: A quantitative research design was employed using an online questionnaire distributed to conveniently selected registered nurses working in various Saudi Arabian hospitals to analyze and assess the adoption and utilization of healthcare technologies, the perceived impact on nursing practices, and the factors facilitating or hindering successful integration. Results: From total 86 nurses participated in this study, 77% (66) of the sample are male and half (50%) of the sample are more than 25, as well as about 64% of the sample attended courses in technology and electronic healthcare. It has been noted that 83% of the sample see that innovative technology is useful and 43% of the sample evaluated the way this new technique or Technology was introduced as very good. The results revealed a non-significant difference in the influence of innovative healthcare technologies on nursing practices in Saudi Arabian Hospitals among participants due to Gender (P-value =0.58), age (P-value =0.109), nationality (P-value =0.358), and attending Courses in technology and electronic healthcare (P-value =0.678). Conclusion: The findings provided insights into the evolving landscape of nursing practices in Saudi Arabia and inform strategies to optimize technology utilization for enhanced patient care.
